Is renting out really free?

Yes. Creating and managing listings and chatting with renters costs nothing. A fee only applies if you use secure online payment for a listing – with direct on-site payment, everything is completely free.

When does a fee apply?

Only if you enable secure online payment and rent out through it. Then Nutze keeps a 10% commission, deducted automatically from your payout. Renters never pay extra fees.

With direct payment you're paid in person. With secure payment, your earnings are released after the return is confirmed via the protocol and paid out to your account through Stripe.

Do I have to ask for a deposit?

No, a deposit is optional. You decide per listing whether to set one and how much.

What if my item gets damaged?

Thanks to the photo protocol at handover and return, damage can be proven clearly. The protocol and – if enabled – the deposit form the basis to resolve it with the renter. Our support helps if needed.

Do I have to pay tax on my earnings?

Rental income can be taxable – whether and how depends on your personal situation. When in doubt, ask your tax advisor. The platform reporting obligation (DAC7) only covers the rental of means of transport such as trailers, bicycles or e-bikes; tools, electronics and event equipment are not covered.
